According to sources close to ESPN Antonio Brown (WR) of the Pittsburgh Steelers is hopeful that a deal can get done with the Steelers before the start of the season. Brown still plans on reporting to training camp this Thursday despite not having a restructured contract yet. Last season, being one of the top wide receivers in the game with 136 catches, 1,834 yds, and 10 TDs, he only made a base salary of $1 million. The next two seasons he’ll make $6.25 million and $8.71 million, respectively, as a base salary. Brown is looking to get paid like the top wide receiver that he is but the Steelers have him under contract for the next couple of years.
The next few weeks should prove interesting for the Steelers and Brown to see if they can get a deal done to put this behind them before the start of the season.
