The MLB action for Saturday is nearly a full slate for daily fantasy owners to build on. The only question mark entering tonight is how many of the games will have rain play into the outcome which in return will limit our fantasy totals.
In all six of the 13 MLB games tonight have rain in the forecast with all of them sitting with around a 40 percent chance. Now we won’t let that slow us down but we will take that into effect as well as recommend everyone to follow the weather situation for these ballparks before the lineups set at 7:05.
Now one of the positions that could be hurt by rain is the starting pitcher slot as three of the top four starters have rain in their forecast. One of those starters is Chris Sale who were are extremely high on tonight pitching against the Oakland A’s.
Here is our MLB options we like tonight in Daily Fantasy Baseball lineups.
MLB Daily Fantasy 411 for Saturday August 20th, 2016
Top Option – Chris Sale, Chicago White Sox: When we looked at the starting pitcher slot we considered Max Scherzer against one of the worst hitting lineusp in all of baseball the Atlanta Braves as well as Felix Hernandez. In the end Sale has the better of the matchups against an A’s team that had lost six of seven before Friday Nights win. If the rain is still a heavy option in Chicago we suggest turning to Hernandez as a safe pick.
Mid Tier Option – Chris Tillman, Baltimore Orioles: These first two games of the Orioles/Houston Astros series has seen a ton of power from the lineups. We expect that to change tonight as the Orioles will send their ace to the hill. The Orioles starter has been great this season following a loss and has pitched at least seven innings in five of his last eight starts.
Fantasy Sleeper Option: David Phelps
Brian McCann, New York Yankees: The Yankees backstop is nearly a must use option tonight against the Los Angeles Angels and starter Ricky Nolasco. In his career McCann has torched the Angels starter for a .323 batting average over 65 at bats with eight of hits going for home runs.
Back Up Option: Evan Gattis
Fantasy Sleeper: Caleb Joseph (If he lands in the lineup)
Anthony Rizzo, Chicago Cubs: Rizzo is riding back to back games with at least two hits giving daily fantasy owners something to look forward to. Add that to the fact he will be hitting at Coors Field that ranks first in home runs according to MLB Ball Park Factors makes him an easy option at first base.
Back Up Options: Chris Davis, Edwin Encarnacion and Joe Mauer.
Brian Dozier, Minnesota Twins: Tonight we suggest looking to use a few Twins against the Kansas City Royals and Ian Kennedy. Entering tonight Kennedy is tied for fourth in all of baseball with 28 home runs allowed. Along with that Dozier has been swinging a hot back picking up home runs in each of his last two games against the Kansas City Royals.
Back Up Option: Jonathan Schoop
Fantasy Sleeper: Ryan Goins (If he is in the lineup)
Trevor Plouffe, Minnesota Twins: Looks like Saturday Night makes perfect sense to build a stack around Twins based on the power potential. That being said Plouffe has hit Kennedy well in his career picking up six hits in 11 at bats with one of those hits going for a home run.
Back Up Options: Chase Headley, Justin Turner, Kris Bryant and Nolan Arenado.
Javier Baez, Chicago Cubs: Here is another contest we love tonight as we look to build are fantasy lineup around. The Cubs infielder who is listed as a short stop has been on a tricky streak of late picking up at least two hits in every other game and that trend will look to continue tonight.
Back Up Option: Carlos Correa and Troy Tulowitzki.
Fantasy Sleeper Option: J.J. Hardy
Carlos Gonzalez, Colorado Rockies: After missing a few games with an ankle injury, Cargo returned to the lineup on Friday Night. The Rockies outfielder picked up two hits in five at bats including a double. For us Gonzalez is one of those options you must have in your lineup when the Rockies play at home at Coors Field if he is healthy.
Mark Trumbo, Baltimore Orioles: With the way the ball is flying out of the ball park at Camden Yards in this series between the Orioles/Astros we have to look to Trumbo. The Orioles outfielder has hit home runs in each of the first two games while adding to his leading total of 36 for the season.
Jackie Bradley Jr, Boston Red Sox: Looking to ride the hot bat landed us with the Boston Red Sox outfielder. Over the last six games, Bradley has turned in big time fantasy performances for his fantasy owners (including four of those games with at least 21 fantasy points on FanDuel). In that stretch Bradley has four home runs, 10 runs driven in and five runs scored.
Back Up Options: Hyun Soo Kim, Michael Saunders, David Dahl and Mike Trout.
Fantasy Sleeper Options: Rickie Weeks
