The weekend has wrapped up but that won’t let us slow down as we look to cash in on some Daily Fantasy Baseball action. While we might not have a full slate as we did on Friday Night we still have a solid eight game slate taking to the diamond for us to build around.
Now for us tonight the big question is which of the top fantasy starters will we turn to for our 50/50 leagues and Head To Head matchups as which cheaper alternative will we look to turn in a big time fantasy performance for GPP tournaments?
One name we like on the mound is
Stephen Strasburg (Update: Strasburg placed on DL) despite his struggles in his last performance. Tonight he has a very favorable matchup against a Baltimore Orioles team that has struggled at times to score runs but more importantly strikes out a ton.
Here is our MLB options we like tonight in Daily Fantasy Baseball lineups.
MLB Daily Fantasy 411 for Monday August 22, 2016
Top Option –
Stephen Strasburg, Washington Nationals: For us Strasburg makes perfect sense tonight to be a starter who could have a bounce back start. Entering tonight the Orioles rank 11th in all of baseball in team strikeouts giving him a chance to add to his fantasy totals. (Update: Strasburg placed on DL)
Fantasy Sleeper Option – Zack Godley, Arizona Diamond Backs: Based on some numbers we have been tracking over the past week on FanDuel starters ranging between the $6k-7k mark has yielded six of the top 3 performances in six different GPP tournaments. Godley has a very favorable fantasy matchup against the Atlanta Braves.
Nick Hundley, Colorado Rockies: Now we are not in love with any catcher option tonight but we do like Hundley hitting at Miller Park. The Rockies catcher has three multi hit contests over his last six contests with one double and one home run.
Back Up Option: Evan Gattis
Fantasy Sleeper: Martin Maldanado
Chris Carter, Milwaukee Brewers: We could have gone in a few different directions. In the end we couldn’t pass up Carter tonight as he will be hitting at Miller Park which ranks sixth in all of baseball in home runs according MLB Park Factors.
Back Up Options: Chris Davis, Ryan Zimmerman and Paul Goldschmidt
Daniel Murphy, Washington Nationals: The Nationals second baseman is the top fantasy option among second baseman. Tonight we like his odds hitting at Camden Yards as well as going up against a starter who struggled with velocity in his last outing.
Back Up Option: Ben Zobrist
Fantasy Sleeper: Starlin Castro
Nolan Arenado, Colorado Rockies: While we love the Rockies third baseman at home at Coors Field we like him tonight hitting a very home run friendly Miller Park. Along with that Arenado is coming off a pretty impressive 4 for 5 night that featured two home runs yesterday.
Back Up Options: Kris Bryant and Alex Bregman
Addison Russell, Chicago Cubs: Russell has put together some solid fantasy games over the past week including hitting three home runs over the last three games to go with four runs batted in. On a night where no real top tier options stand out Russell supports a solid fantasy salary cap number on most sites.
Back Up Option: Carlos Correa
Fantasy Sleeper Option: Jordy Mercer
Bryce Harper, Washington Nationals: For us after seeing how Dylan Bundy struggled in his last outing we couldn’t pass up the Nationals tonight. Add that to the fact Camden Yards has been red hot for home runs over the past four games makes him a great option.
Charlie Blackmon, Colorado Rockies: Now we suggest monitoring the lineups as well as any fantasy news you might here as Blackmon has been dealing with some injury concerns. That being said, the Rockies outfielder has eight home runs over his last ten games.
Back Up Options: Hyun Soo Kim, Ryan Braun, Keon Broxton, Yasmany Tomas and Andrew McCutchen.
Fantasy Sleeper Options: Michael Bourn
