The daily fantasy baseball season continues to ride on as we get set for another Hump Day filled with a ten game slate. Now for us tonight we could go a few different directions including going with one of the tier fantasy options on the mound to build around or stack the lineup with some of the big bats that are red hot.
One of those red hot bats is the Baltimore Orioles first baseman Chris Davis as he looks to continue his recent success. After sitting on 22 home runs for most of the end of July and start of August, Davis has picked up six home runs over his last seven games. In that stretch Davis rewarded his daily fantasy owners with some big time fantasy performances.
On the other side we have some solid options on the mound including Zack Greinke, Jose Fernandez and Yu Darvish. Of that group, Greinke stands out based on his very favorable matchup against the Atlanta Braves.
Here our the MLB options we like tonight for our Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineups.
MLB Daily Fantasy 411 for Wednesday August 24th, 2016
Top Option – Zack Greinke, Arizona Diamondbacks: While Greinke has been up and down for most of this season including two starts of two or fewer innings. That being said the Diamondbacks starter has a very favorable matchup tonight against the Atlanta Braves. Entering tonight the Braves rank 30th in all of baseball in runs scored, 23rd in hits and 30th in home runs.
Fantasy Sleeper Option – James Shields
Welington Castillo, Arizona Diamondbacks: Castillo has been red hot for fantasy owners of late picking up hits in eight of his last nine games including four of those game featuring multi hit performances. Look for that success to continue tonight at home against the Braves.
Back Up Option: Carlos Ruiz
Fantasy Sleeper: Dioner Navarro
Chris Davis, Baltimore Orioles: Davis is one of those options you just continue to ride while he is swinging the bat hot. Entering tonight, the Orioles first baseman has picked up hits in six of the last seven games including one home run in five of those contests.
Back Up Options: Adrian Gonzalez
Cesar Hernandez, Philadelphia Phillies: The second base position is an interesting position to select from tonight as no player stands out on paper. That being said Hernandez has had some success over the past week picking up five multi hit games in seven games.
Back Up Option: Jonathan Schoop
Fantasy Sleeper: Kolten Wong
Evan Longoria, Tampa Bay Rays: We could toss around names like Manny Machado, Todd Frazier or Jake Lamb. In the end we couldn’t pass up on Longoria tonight as he has posted double digit fantasy numbers in four of his last seven games.
Back Up Options: Manny Machado and Martin Prado.
Corey Seager, Los Angeles Dodgers: For us Seager is the top option at short stop as he continues to swing one of the hottest bats in all of baseball. Over his last seven games, the Dodgers third baseman is hitting .640 with one home run to go with five runs batted in.
Back Up Option: Troy Tulowitzki
Fantasy Sleeper Option: J.J. Hardy
Bryce Harper, Washington Nationals: For us Harper as well as many of his teammates are a perfect option tonight against Wade Miley and the Baltimore Orioles. The Orioles starter has struggled since joining the club giving up at least four runs in three of his four starts.
Peter Bourjos, Philadelphia Phillies: The Phillies outfielder is a solid option in the outfield at a reasonable salary cost. Entering tonight, Bourjos has picked up five hits over his last ten at bats with one home run. Add that with the fact the Phillies outfielder has picked up hits in six straight games.
Mark Trumbo, Baltimore Orioles: Much like his teammate, Trumbo has been red hot over the past ten games. In that stretch, Trumbo has picked up five home runs to go along with nine runs driven in.
Back Up Options: Ian Desmond, Michael Saunders, Mike Trout and Adam Eaton.
Fantasy Sleeper Options: Chris Heisey and Ezequiel Carrera.
