New York Rangers: Fantasy Hockey Goalie Outlooks
His rank in those two categories was never as low as that before in his career. Of all the goalies ranked below Lundqvist in THN’s top 200, New Jersey Devils’ netminder Cory Schneider would be the only one I would rank above number 30 in blue.

Why Eddie Lacy Will Be A Top 10 Running Back This Year

September 1, 2016 by True Sports

eddie-lacy

One year ago, before guys like Todd Gurley and David Johnson turned into the next great young fantasy football stars at running back, Eddie Lacy was firmly in the mix for the top running back spot in fantasy football, alongside Le’Veon Bell. Coming off two straight seasons with over 1,400 combined yards from scrimmage and double-digit touchdowns, and playing in an offense featuring Aaron Rodgers and one of the best offensive lines in football, Lacy looked to be one of the premier running backs both on the field, and in rotisserie leagues.

But instead, Lacy went from preseason stud to regular season dud, as part of a Green Bay Packers offense that struggled as a whole. His carries dropped by almost 25% — from 246 to 187 — between 2014 and 2015, and he finished with less than 760 yards and only three touchdowns rushing. He didn’t break 100 yards rushing in a single game until the weekend before Thanksgiving. His poor play sprouted from his even poorer conditioning last season. Packers head coach McCarthy even benched Lacy in Week 11 of the regular season, and when the season was over, he publicly stated that Lacy’s hold on the starting running back job would be dictated by what type of commitment he made to his fitness and weight during the offseason.

With that in mind, Lacy spent the summer training with Tony Horton, founder of the famous P90X workout program. Akin to the exercises in said program, Horton put Lacy through a daily regime of plyometric exercises (exerting maximum force over short intervals with the goal of increasing speed and strength) designed to strengthen his legs, his butt, and even his core. They also mixed in cardio workouts, basketball-centric workouts, and even boxing routines.

All of that that helped Lacy come into the Packers 2016 OTA’s in noticeably better shape, though McCarthy challenged Lacy again to come into training camp with that same level of conditioning. Lacy rose to the challenge, coming into camp with the same level of fitness, and the results have been very tangible. He’s been one of the stars of the 2016 preseason, after running for 114 yards on 20 carries (and a touchdown), in very limited action so far. His coaches — including McCarthy — have all commented how Lacy looks far more explosive and spry, versus the player they saw in 2015.

As he’s proven earlier in his career, when healthy and fully motivated, Lacy is good for 1,400 combined yards and double-digit touchdowns per season. He’s never played in less than 15 games per season, over his three year career, so he doesn’t have the durability concerns of a Mark Ingram or LeSean McCoy. He doesn’t have young running back waiting in the wings behind him, like Devonta Freeman or Doug Martin both do on their respective teams. Plus, with his size and strength, he’s not someone the Packers will substitute out in goal line situations, like the Chiefs might with Jamaal Charles.

All of these facts put together put Lacy squarely in the conversation among the top 10 fantasy football running backs.

MLB Daily Fantasy 411 for Saturday August 27th, 2016

August 27, 2016 by dj

The hot bat continues to ride in New York for Daily Fantasy Baseball owners as Gary Sanchez continues to impress. The Yankees rookie helped put together another big time fantasy performance finishing the game going three for five with one double, one home run (10th of the year) and four runs batted in.

Now unfortunately for us the Yankees/Baltimore Orioles get going in the afternoon so it leaves us looking for another option to ride tonight. One of the options we like to carry us is Carlos Carrasco of the Cleveland Indians. The Indians righty has posted three straight games above 41 fantasy points on FanDuel while striking out at least eight batters in four straight games.

Meanwhile at the plate, Mookie Betts is another great option after he went five for five on Friday Night. The Red Sox outfielder is currently riding a five game hitting streak that featured two multi hit games while also driving in four runs over that stretch.
Here are the Daily Fantasy Baseball options we are looking at for tonight’s 11 game MLB Slate.

MLB Daily Fantasy 411 for Saturday August 27th, 2016

Starting Pitchers

Top Option – Carlos Carrasco, Cleveland Indians: The options on the mound are pretty solid this evening with guys like Noah Syndergaard and David Price as the other top options. In the end the Indians starter was too good to pass up as he has posted at least six innings of work in seven of his last eight games while posting at least six strike outs in five of those contests.

Fantasy Sleeper Option – Jake Peavy, San Francisco Giants (Update: Giants place Peavy on the 15-day dl)

Catcher

Evan Gattis, Houston Astros: While Gattis might not be Sanchez he has put together back to back good games for his daily fantasy owners. Gattis is three for seven in those two games with two home runs and four runs driven in. Overall depending on the site you are playing on the Astros catcher has posted five double digit fantasy performances over his last seven games.

Back Up Option: Mike Zunino

Fantasy Sleeper: Travis d’Arnaud

First Baseman

Brandon Moss, St. Louis Cardinals: The Cardinals first baseman continues to help the Cardinals night in and night out while posting some fantasy numbers. Moss is riding a five game hitting streak that features three straight two hit performances while adding three home runs over his last five games.

Back Up Options: Paul Goldschmidt, Joey Votto and Ryan Howard

Second Baseman

Josh Harrison, Pittsburgh Pirates: Now Harrison might not be our top option as we like Robinson Cano and Jose Altuve tonight as well. That being said Harrison will provide some salary cap relief for our lineup while also giving us a solid option at the plate. The Pirates will square off with the Milwaukee Brewers at Miller Park which ranks as one of the top hitters ball parks in all of baseball.

Back Up Option: Jose Altuve and Robinson Cano

Third Baseman

Jedd Gyorko, St. Louis Cardinals: Continuing to ride the hot bat landed us with another Cardinals hitter and this time that one is the teams third baseman. Gyorko is five for his last 14 with two home runs, three runs batted in and five runs scored.

Back Up Options: Todd Frazier

Short Stop

Ketel, Marte, Seattle Mariners: After staying away from the Mariners/Chicago White Sox matchup yesterday with two good arms on the mound tonight would be a good night to jump back on ship. Now much like Harrison, Marte is a good salary cap saver but if you have the extra cash you could spend a little heavier.

Back Up Option: Francisco Lindor and Brad Miller

Fantasy Sleeper: Adeiny Hechavarria

Outfielder

Mookie Betts, Boston Red Sox: As we stated above Betts continues to put together an impressive 2016 campaign. Tonight I suggest riding his hot bat in the lineup if the salary cap numbers work out for you. Over his last five games, Betts has delivered double digit performances in three of those games on FanDuel.

Keon Broxton, Milwaukee Brewers: We could have gone with a few of the outfielders in tonights Pirates/Brewers matchup. In the end, Broxton is a fantasy cap saver but has also been a great fantasy option of late for his fantasy owners. Last night, Broxton went one for two with two walks while picking up a double and a stolen base.

Back Up Options: Mike Trout, Yoenis Cespedes, Kevin Kiermaier and Michael Bourn

Fantasy Sleeper Options: Jeff Francoeur

MLB Daily Fantasy 411 for Thursday August 25th, 2016

August 25, 2016 by True Sports

The big test for any daily fantasy baseball owner is finding the right information to build a winning lineup. That is where we come in as we look at the matchups, weather conditions as well as where each game is being played to help us put together our list of top options around the game to build your lineup from.

Now as we start to look at Thursday Nights lineup of games we first started by taking a look at any type of weather situations that may arise. This lead us to two games that rain could play a factor into the first is the Baltimore Orioles at Washington Nationals game (35% chance rain @ 7pm) and the second game is the New York Mets at St. Louis Cardinals contest (55% chance of rain at 9pm rising to 65% as the night moves on).

The second piece of information we looked into before building our list is which contests are taking place in the best hitters ball parks and which are not. This landed us with a few stadiums that we like including the Miller Park (Pittsburgh Pirates VS Milwuakee Brewers) and the other one is Chase Field (Atlanta Braves VS Arizona Diamondbacks).
After spending time looking a ton of information for August 25th, here is the MLB options we like as option for our daily fantasy baseball lineup.

MLB Daily Fantasy 411 for Thursday August 25th, 2016

Starting Pitchers

Top Option –J.A. Happ, Toronto Blue Jays: Now Happ might not be the top fantasy option on the mound on Thursday Night but we like his matchup a little better as Max Scherzer will face off against a red hot Baltimore Orioles lineup while Cole Hamels makes the start against a first place Cleveland Indians team. Along with the matchup situation Happ has been great this year for his fantasy owners while posting 17 wins.

Fantasy Sleeper Option – Edinson Volquez

Catcher

Matt Wieters, Baltimore Orioles: We are going to continue to ride the Orioles lineup even though the Nationals will have one of their top arms on the mound. On Thursday Night we like our chances with Wieters who has picked up four hits over his last two games with two doubles, one home run to go along with six runs batted in.

Back Up Option: Jonathan Lucroy

Fantasy Sleeper: Manny Pina or Jose Lobaton

First Baseman

Josh Bell, Pittsburgh Pirates: This might not be the name you were thinking would pop up as one of our top options at first base. That being said, Bell has been very productive in a limited role this season picking up seven hits in 15 at bats with one of those hits going for a home run. According to Rotogrinders Ball Park Factors Miller Park sits at 1.55 for left hander hitters for home runs with one being average. Along with that lefties are hitting above average in singles, doubles and slugging.

Back Up Options: Chris Davis and Edwin Encarnacion

Second Baseman

Daniel Murphy, Washington Nationals: While the weather could play a factor into the start of this ball game, we could not pass up Murphy as he will look to take advantage of a struggling Ubaldo Jimenez. The Orioles starter has struggled over his last few outings allowing five earned runs over his last five innings of work.

Back Up Option: Jace Peterson

Third Baseman

Adrian Beltre, Texas Rangers: The numbers all point to the Rangers third baseman on Thursday Night. The first of those numbers is the fact that he has hit Josh Tomlin well in a limited role picking up four hits including one home run in ten career at bats. The second key stat is the one that features Tomlin leading all of Major League Baseball with 32 home runs allowed this season.

Back Up Options: Jake Lamb and David Freese

Short Stop

Trea Turner, Washington Nationals: This was an easy option for us tonight as Turner has been red hot picking up eight hits over his last nine at bats against the Orioles including a double. Along with those numbers Turner was tossed out trying to steal after a few of those hits in this series.

Back Up Option: Troy Tulowitzki

Fantasy Sleeper Option: Jordy Mercer and J.J. Hardy

Outfielder

Adam Jones, Baltimore Orioles: We are not shying away from the Orioles on Thursday Night even with Scherzer on the mound. This includes using Jones who has been red hot in his career against the Nationals starter picking up 11 hit in 22 at bats with three of those hits going for home runs.

Michael Saunders, Toronto Blue Jays: Saunders and Melvin Upton Jr are also interesting options against the Los Angeles Angels who will have Jered Weaver on the mound. Weaver has struggled at times keeping the ball in the ball park as he enters Thursday ranked third in all of baseball with 30 home runs allowed.

Back Up Options: Carlos Beltran, Gregory Polanco and Melky Cabrera

Fantasy Sleeper Options: Ezequiel Carrera
